Enistic Energy Manager is powerful software that works in conjunction with the Enistic system of smart metering and energy management. It provides very accurate, real-time (and customisable) displays of energy usage, along with costs and CO2 emissions. Energy Manager can be used to break down your energy data, to monitor for example the efficiency of a single piece of equipment (such as the photocopier or printer), the energy usage of a department, or to assess the cost of running the air conditioning or lighting across your site.

Energy Manager Online makes it easy to set energy-saving targets and then to measure progress made by individuals and departments within an organisation - simply and transparently. It can be used to create customised PDF reports at the touch of a button, according to the criteria you select, and offers a wide range of analytics options.

Energy Manager can also be used to manage a building's energy usage remotely by, for example, turning equipment and lighting off overnight and at weekends when the premises are not in use.

The system can be used to identify quick and easy savings (largely through behavioural change), and as part of a longer-term plan of energy reduction and management - on average an organisation will be able to reduce their energy bill by over 20%.

Stage 1 - Audit

For the first time, Energy Manager gives organisations the power to show people their energy use on an individual or departmental basis. This means that corporate energy reduction schemes that are sometimes impersonal and remote are made far more personal and local to the individuals concerned. This leads to a greater sense of responsibility and ownership for your staff members and greatly helps with the complicated process of affecting behavioural change within your organisation.

Stage 2 - Manage

With the Enistic range of energy management solutions, it is not only possible to monitor energy consumption in the office, but also to actively manage it. This allows for control and management of office-based IT equipment, such as desktop computer systems and associated office peripherals including printers, photocopiers and vending machines. With this level of flexibility, you are able to start measuring how much individual pieces of equipment cost to run and begin the process of identifying the energy hogs within your organisation, as well as energy-sapping equipment which could be replaced with less energy-demanding and more environmentally-friendly equipment.

Stage 3 - Target, incentivise and motivate

Energy saving within organisations is often too impersonal as the only measurement that the company really has to play with is their electricity bill. Enistic Energy Manager gives an accurate breakdown of who in your organisation is using what electricity, and the cost of it in both carbon emissions and money.

By giving people ownership over their energy use, you start to influence their behaviour - nothing motivates more than having items billed back to their own P & L account.

If you set targets for the coming quarters to reduce your energy bill, Energy Manager is a precise tool to measure your progress and incentivise success.

Stage 4 - Report

If you want to improve it, you first have to measure it.

Companies that can’t measure their energy use accurately to individual / applicance level are going to struggle with achieving visible reductions in that energy use.

Using Enistic Energy Manager, staff will see exactly how much the electricity cost last month, what their target is this month and how they are doing with their own individual contribution. If they turn their PC off overnight, they will see the savings in the reports and can take ownership of those savings.

Stage 5 - Enforce

With daily personal reports about how each individual or department is performing against their targets, people are far more likely to engage with a programme of energy saving. Change can be effected with minimal managerial input, and success can be rewarded with prizes, such as home energy saving kits. Energy Manager's range of reporting tools gives a powerful message to help reinforce your messages about energy reduction.

The online version of the Enistic Energy Manager is a subscription service. You will need 1 subscription license per channel of measuring device you plan to use. For example, a 5-Way Smart Socket needs 1 annual subscription license and the 16-Channel Smart Meter needs 16 annual subscription licenses.
